How to make your own

chalkboard paint

Chalkboard paint is a wonderful medium that saves you from having to prime and prep your painting area! It is also great if you have kids who fancy themselves to be the next Picasso and find walls to be the ultimate canvas. By making your own chalkboard paint you can make sure the paint will match your décor and ambience of your house. So get cracking and make your chalkboard paint.

What you will need:

  • Paint of your choice
  • Plaster of Paris
  • Water

Method:

  1. Combine 5 tablespoons of Plaster of Paris with 2 cups of paint. Add 2 tablespoons of water to make sure your paint mixes well and stirs to a nice consistency. Stir well until your mixture is blended and voila you have chalkboard paint! Do not however be alarmed if your paint is lumpy, it will even out when you paint.
